Already at our evening arrival reveals to us a still almost untouched nature, a calm and peacefulness surrounds the driveway to the hotel, only the soft murmur of the Baltic Sea and the shriek of seagulls is heard.
So it is not surprising, as three deer cross in slow motion our path. The forests illuminate even in the evening hours even in the highest and most beautiful orange and red tones of autumn.
The Dünenmeer Hotel & Spa is surrounded by woods, right on the wide, flat sloping beach. Curving dunes encase the 30 000-square-meter area on one side, on the other side, not far away, opening up the Bodden landscape of the peninsula Fischland-Darß-Zingst. In the direct vicinity is merely a campsite, promenades, such as in Zingst do not exist.
Therefore, the Dünenmeer lies in dreamlike quiet place, even in summer this beach section is never crowded. To find such a place for a hotel new building, is today virtually impossible. From a bird's-eye effect it seems almost unrealistic and a little like from "Asterix and Obelix".
The hotel consists of the hotel by itself with 49 rooms and 16 cozy, traditional thatched roof houses, which can also be rented.
Just 38 apartments are available. The hotel was opened first in 2007 and is now just one year after hotel opening an excellent reputation.
The check-in at the hotel complements our first positive impression of the environment. We are courteously welcomed with a rose which we put in our suite in the specially provided vase.
The first ice is quickly broken! Arrive at a pleasant and very personal way. The attention to detail is playing a major role in the Dünenmeer, as we will still experience during our stay.
The design of the lobby is very inviting and comfortable. Warm shades of red and yellow primary colors dominate the interior.
Our Dünenmeer suite, with its 2 bedrooms, its living room and bathroom is very spacious, everything is very harmonious and set straight.
Nothing could better fit here than white, solid wood cabinets and various blue fabrics. But the highlight is the large wooden terrace with direct view over the entire ocean panorama.
The placed heart on the apple at the bed is another further detail that suggests on a warm exerted hotel management. We are very anxious to the days that follow.
Our first night is over and we slept so well as not for a long time, while the choice of linens initially felt somewhat difficult. The menu holds countless sleeping pillows and blankets ready. The rising was difficult -we get it just in time to our booked treatments.
In the wellness area "Jungbrunnen" we are warmly welcomed by our therapists. We have decided for "Ganz Schwerelos" and " Dünensand Stempelmassage." The heart of the spa is the treatment area with various multifunctional rooms.
The equipment is obviously fashionable, as it could be expect otherwise by a new house. The entire spa area is distributed to approximately 1500qm and extends to two floors and consists basically of four areas.
For one thing, the spacious spa lounge and relaxation area with fireplace, on the other hand, the sauna area with three different saunas, a bio sauna, a steam bath and a rustic outdoor sauna with a fireplace. The third area is the big panoramic swimming pool, from which one has a great view on the sea and beach events and that between 6 o´ clock until 24 o´clock.
There is also Candlelight swimming on some evenings what at instead of what creates a mysteriou and also an unforgettable atmosphere.
But, as already mentioned we vanish now in the treatment rooms, in order to arrive finally at ourselves. At the applications the Dünenmeer sets on the forces and resources of nature.
Substances such as salt, seaweed, amber or sea buckthorn are deployed. Even the names of the individual treatments impression curiosity. Quite weightless, I feel truly after the 90 minutes treatment period.
The therapist was extremely sensitive and went concentrated with warm stones and pleasantly warm amber oil into my weaknesses targeted. As newly born, I meet my husband after his Dünensand Stempelmassage on the way out. He also reported only good and his facial expression arises only gladly sparkle.
Another praise deserves the catering sector. The breakfast buffet leaves no wish unfulfilled and also the menus in the evening are varied, creative and tasteful.
But what an absolute "Must Have" is- the cake-buffet in the afternoon, be it at the cozy fireplace or in the midst of the dunes on stylish wooden terrace, which offers also in the evening for the Sundowner a privileged place.
Such a cake and pie selection, we have even after many years of hotel experience may experience here the first time. Confectioner masterstroke par excellence!
The soul of the house, the hotel director is constant companion at any time of day, always keep an eye on how the guest feels itself.
On Sunday morning she hands her guests personally a glass of champagne and always inquires after the welfare of their guests without being obtrusively.
For the sporty actives, the Dünenmeer offers an active program, which involves for example Yoga, Qi Gong or water gymnastics. In the sister hotel, which lies next door, is a fitness center and tennis courts for free disposal. The environment is best to explore with the to rent bicycles.
Even golf enthusiasts have not far to the 9 - hole golf course "Zum Fischland."
Water sports fans will find their true paradise. Windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing and other sports on the Baltic sea, and even water-skiing on nearby Bernsteinsee are possible.
Our stay in the Dünenmeer was in all respects a great success and our mental and physical condition relocated to zero.
The loving hotel management, in which each guest feels, as if nothing is impossible.
The high number of repeat guests is remarkable after one year hotel operation.
The cozy, homey atmosphere in all areas.
The fantastic location with direct access to the beach and convenient accessibility of the impressive surroundings and nature. The possibilities are very versatile, observe cranes in the Bodden, the history of amber, adventure tour Königstuhl, just to name a few.
But most noteworthy is, the type and workmanship of the treatments. Not only the professional but also the social competence of the therapists is perfect.
A real Spa hotel, which deserved award!
