Origin
Maritime climate, seawater and algae are the three columns of the Thalassotherapy. Thalasso treatments have its origin at the French Atlantic coast although the name comes from the Greek. Thalasso means "sea". Originally all life is coming out of sea- "Omnis vita ex mare".The life arose in the sea about 3 billion years ago.
At first it was only small, single-celled blue-green algae, which one uses the sunlight as an energy source. Since then Algae are the purest masters of survival and are able to arrange themselves perfect on their sorrounding even under heaviest conditions. They and alos other sea substances, like seawaters, plankton and mud, are real all-rounders. So exist e.g. algae, which can survive many weeks in the hot sun without water and developed special humidity regulating survive mechanisms. Today one uses these among others in the sea cosmetics. The fact that the mineral content of the human blood serum and that one of the seawater is almost identical, makes active agents out of the sea unsurpassed in their compatibility.
Effect
Algea freshening, purifying, regenerating, calming, tightening, moistening, mineralizing,
Activating the metabolism and promoting the cell renewal. They containe in highly concentrated form amino acids, vitamins, minerals, iron and much more, what we need for the regeneration of our organism and in addition they clean the blood. A kilogram of algae contains the active agents of 100,000 litres seawater.
Fields of application
Algae are used:
- in the medical practice, e.g. at high blood pressure and cholesterol increased
- in the environmental medicine, e.g. in case of an amalgam removal (teeth)
- in the cancer therapy
- in the nutrition
Meanwhile algae have an exceptionally important meaning in the cosmetics. Depending on mode of action they are used for the most different applications and treatments such as at face treatments due to their strongly regenerating quality.
