In the office, on the street, in the underground people everywhere sniff and blow their noses. It is cold time. The viruses attack our noses the whole year, but first if it gets cold, they feel very well and spawn. Some tricks can help to get rid fast of them again and there is alleviation for the sore cold noses.
With the nose one can not only smell, she still has other important tasks: In the nose the air is made to a right temperature so that it does not reach the respiratory tract too coldly. Sufficient humidity gets the air over the mucous membrane of the nose. The most important function: The nose cleans the breathed in air of microorganisms and suspended particels, which can be dangerous for the body.
To be fed up with
The irritated muscous membranes produce so much secretion, that one is proverbially fed up and it starts to drip. The muscous membranes swell up simultaneously, whereby the breathing is more hardly. One breathes by the mouth, the filter function is dropped and still more germs reach the body. Therefore one should get free the nose as fast as possible again.
Viruses do not like warmth
From an at first harmless cold a bronchitis, a sinusitis or an inflammation of the middle ear can develop because the germs on the mucous membrane of the nose spread easily. Viruses do not like warmth at all. One gets a cold under control very fast if one breathes in a hot steam for one day five to six times each ten minutes. One should go to the doctor if the cold continuous more than ten days and pains appear at the nose or at forehead and sinuses of the nose.
The cold nose needs care
Paper handkerchiefs are not only more softly but also more hygienically- provided that one throws it away after using. Substance handkerchieves are ideal germ carriers by which one can catch itself once more. Ethereal oils, like eucalyptus or lemon oil, on a handkerchief and at night a drop on the pillow help at breathing. The oils promote the circulation and impede inflammations in the nose.
Nose drops and -the sprays ease the berathing because they prevent that mucous membrane of the nose swells. They should not be longer used than a week, though. With some drops of sesame oil on a cotton-wool tip one can care dried up mucous membranes of the nose. The many handkerchieves stimulate also stable noses. Here help camomiles and calendula cream. Bee products help red noses because they work anti-inflammatorily and form a protection film on the sore skin. A little honey or bees- or Propolis- ointment from the pharmacy is suitable for it.
