Berwang, a small sleepy village, where one can be forfeited in devout silence, 100% recovery aspect. Near the Austrian border, in the midst of the Zugspitze area is sprayed true natural beauty in the winter than in summer too. Surrounded by a lush green carpet, the eye is almost blind, so green appear the meadows and mountain slopes in summer. For hikers and nature lovers the ideal starting point. 500 km of hiking trails and peaks from 1800 to 2900 levels, which would like to be climbed. Featured destinations such as the Zugspitze, the King's Castles, Oberammergau or the "Svarowskikristallwelten" are nearby. Playing golf on the Golf Alpin in only 20 kilometers distance.
In winter, however, Berwang is a veritable snow hole. While below the snow is often melt, here on 1336m are ideal snow conditions until spring.
Broad sloping, white powdered slopes, 40 km of pistes and 10 ski lifts refresh the hearts of skiers and snowboarders. If this is not enough, take the shuttle directly at Germany's flagship mountain, the Zugspitze. The Happy Ski Card is valid for a total of 95 ski lifts with 203 km of pistes.
What would these glory conditions without the Sporthotel Singer. What began two generations ago with a small pension, has developed to a warm and empathetic recreation paradise. What had started with innovation, because the Singer was far ahead of its time- so it had as one of the first hotels flowing hot and cold water, central heating and electric light in every room, is also present in relation to modernity not behind. Today, the family achieved to combine old values and traditions with great attention to guests, exclusivity and modern. Since then the Sporthotel Singer belongs to the hotel cooperation Relais & Châteaux.
The Singer is located directly beside the Sonnalpbahn, so it is an easy entry into the skiing and hiking arena possible. Similarly, at the house next to the slopes lies the Johannes`Schirmbar, in which one can join the fun from noon or can even eat pleasurably.
The hotel has 60 rooms and suites, so everything is manageable. Our "home on time" is traditionally in alpine style. Even in the lobby you feel immediately at ease. The welcome at reception, we have a very warm experience. This warmth is available in all areas of the house. The family, as well as the many longtime employees allow the guest the feeling to be at home and that in all areas.
Sleeping in the Loreakopfsuite means: finishing the evenings with a crackling fireplace flickering and smells after fine pinewood and to welcome the day in the morning with a panoramic view. In the dressing begins the front window and ends in the corridor on the opposite side. All peaks of the Berwanger mountain world always in the eye. The rustic wooden balcony above the mountainside floating, finally, completes the suite.
Unfortunately, on our first morning the winter does not show itself by its sunny side, at least this is the way we look at it. Mrs. Holle would certainly disagree. It snows and snows and should probably already have snowed all night. The view is accordingly- so our decision was clear: This day does not belong to the nature, but the various amenities which this hotel has to offer. First of all this includes a breakfast without time pressure.
A varied buffet with all the goodies, as one wishes, we are offered. The atmosphere in the dining rooms and Tyrolean rooms is relaxed and very comfortable. Each accessory is chosen with love. Even the playful textiles, which is concerned to the design, awake even in us, as followers of minimalism our nostalgic vein. A pleasant warmth of the well-being spreads. The service staff spoil us with coffee and tea and nice words.
After breakfast we are going into the Spa and this is not just a department, a specially built house.
By a underground, wide tunnel, we strolling longingly and curiously into the opposite building, which lodges on three floors and on the 1800m ² the Singer `s Spa.
Immediately we are inspired by the generosity of the premises and the ideal disposition of the various areas. At first one is welcomed in the Spa Bistro, in which coffee, fruity wellness drinks, salads, snacks and much more are offered. Large panoramic windows allow us a wonderful vision to the 10,000 sqm large Alpine- Relax- Garden, which can be passed wonderfully in summer, past by beautiful flowers and shrubs, and the impressive mountain world all around.
Likewise, we are impressed by the composition of Alpine-style and modern furnishings equipment. Everything is very stylishly furnished. The sauna experience landscape offers a passionated Sauna enthusiast everything what he needs. Beige rock is architecturally incorporated between the individual saunas and steam baths. For relaxation and indulging, there are two rooms available, even the rest room with water beds and the room with the fireplace. In the latter precious wood ceilings, heavy curtains and warm interior colors dominate the interieur. The fire crackles softly and contributes to the fast relaxation.
The element water is reflected here inter alia also in the indoor pool, which is connected with the year-round heated outdoor pool. In summer blooming rose bushes and other shrubs line the pool and panorama terrace in all imaginable colors.
The real beauty area is divided by the basic concept in three
areas. Through the influence of the richest flora of the Western Alps in this area the applications thus create an expedition through the nature. Tyrolean nature experience with native herbs, minerals and flavors, and the strong berry vinotehrapy from Caudalie, which is almost unique in Austria.
From the variety offer we pick up different variations and let us pampered well from head to toe. After the Crushed Cabernet Scrub, the name alone is promising, I may experience a Caudalie Grand Facial. My beautician Elizabeth mastered her craft.
Sensitively and with technically perfect hand movements she spoils me and my facial 80 minutes long. A long time ago I did not had such a good facial treatment. Neck, arms and feet missed out. Full of love applying of the compresses, the massage with fresh grapes and certainly the fragrant products from Caudalie let my skin shining after the event and I'm fit as a fiddle. My skin feels like totally renewed.
Blissfully and beyond the world outside I meet in the Bistro on my man, who exudes the same aura as myself. His La Stone massage and men's Alpine Power facial treatment, almost has made a new human of him, anyway he appears to me like that.
On one hand happy and satisfied, on the other wistfully we leave the spa and go forward to our room, since the dinner time is approaching in big measures, and despite the sweet idleness, we have an enormous hunger.
One hour later, we are allowed to see how excellent the Chef the cuisine, creates the 5-course menus. There is the question of why this chef does not obtain any stars or hoods. The culinary plays in the Sport Singer a major role. Throughout the day, one can have snacks, cakes or even festive menus. Twice a week cozy fondue- and raclette evenings taking place, of course in the Singer`s Stub`n and independent of the regular evening menu.

With this melodic and equally well-tasting menu, our day is coming to the end. Recovered and well nourished, better we could not spent the day, just as well a wellness day should take place- at any rate in this sense we are going to bed satisfied and sleep like babies.
And how could it be otherwise, on the next morning bright sunshine wakes us and lures us to the freshly powdered slopes.
