       |
The concept luxury changed over the centuries and decades steadily. Once one defined luxury and the so-called 5-star hotel category unlike as nowadays.
It won with the changing civilization an entirely new meaning, and will surely alterate in the coming years. The times of stiff 5 stars houses where excellent service is celebrated, but also a certain sterile atmosphere is prevailing, are long gone.
The guest of today wants friendly and courteously to be attended, but not to be flattered stretched to the limit. Additionally a comfortable and unconventional environment is important.
Equivalent for luxury is also space and time. In rambling and not controlled by time ambience one can let go and relax.
According to these guidelines of space and time the 5 – star Alpenpalace Deluxe hotel & Spa Resort opened in spring of 2007 its doors- in one of the loveliest valleys in South Tyrol, the Ahrn valley. So the entire Ahrn- and Puster valley got its first 5 – star house.
Idyllic in the middle of the ski areas Speikboden and Klausberg, lies the Alpenpalace on a 30,000 square-meter estate, surrounded by a beautiful park with streams, in the summer of baroque rose garden, outdoor pool and whirlpool.
The fun, which the gardeners have during their work, reflects in the lovingly created hedges and rose arrangements. In winter, the two ski resorts are comfortably reachable with the ski bus or the hotel own shuttle service.
The famous Kronplatz is also only 20 kilometers away. All the surrounding ski areas go up to about 2500m altitude and are equipped with the most modern lifts and passably until Easter.
In summer, the Ahrn valley has hiking trails and recreational activities without limitations. 80 3.000 meter peaks and Europe's largest nature reserve Rieserferner Ahrn-with a total area of 2475m ² captivate each year anew their visitors.
Sports such as rafting, paragliding and golf are just a few examples of this, which are her e possible.
In winter, there is a modern ski room with tiled stove and heated storage facilities for ski boots. Also the Alpenpalace itself offers various sporting activities. Whether it is a hiking and ski guide, yoga sessions or gymnastics.
The family Mairhofer and its entire team are looking forward to every guest comparably. This one can feel promptly on arrival at the hotel. The car is brought in the garage and the baggage to the room, while we are welcomed in the spacious lobby very kindly.
Right next to the reception the bar area opens, which is often accompanied with piano music, and right next the cozy fireside lounge. Everything is open designed and tastefully connected.
A pleasant smell of fresh wood rises us in the nose. No wonder, because the whole house is equipped with high-quality native timbers. Both on ceilings, walls and other institutions is bright wood. Traditional elements were skilfully introduced into modernity.
A separate smoking room pleased smokers as also non-smokers. Colossal large, glossy polished majestic chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and attach very tastefully into the interior.
Following the bar area is a large restaurant with buffets and individually separated levels, so that all keep its generous and however welcoming character.
The ¾ Wellness board consists of a breakfast buffet with show cooking, fresh fruit and vegetable juices and all what one desires. From 14h to 17h one taste light dishes a la Wellness, which change every day. Or one can serve on the cake buffet.
In the evening, native, Italian and international buffets with 5-7 courses menus are celebrated. The chef de cuisine of the house Michael Strempel succeed always the craziest combinations.
As a certified whole food and diet cook, he lives up to all wishes. Also the staff satisfies every the so little demand in a very nice and commendable manner.
Forty rooms and suites, spread over three floors, owned the Alpenpalace. On the wide corridors one almost floats on shag-piles to his room. The furnishing style of the individual rooms and suites varies widely, so that every taste is fullfilled.
Double rooms with a romantic style with canopy bed, Asia-rooms with dark wood and Asian accessories, rustic rooms with genuine barn wood, which remember at a traditional, rustic Alm.
Large suites with flat screens embedded in the bathroom and alos family suites with a heavenly child's bedroom. However, all the rooms have one thing in common: noble drapes, premium bed linen and every little detail is lovingly arranged.
Friendly, fresh colors let arrive oneself instantly and feel comfortable. And in the bathroom one is spoiled with the BVLGARI White Tea Luxury Collection.
Our family suite has three rooms and a spacious bathroom. The cozy sitting area next to tiled stove enables nice evenings with the family. A room cannot be more comfortable!
The heart of the Alpenpalace Deluxe Hotel & Spa Resort is the approximately 2000qm large Spa Alpin. Three separate areas, the indoor swimming pool, the beauty area and the saunas and steam baths are located immediately adjacent on one layer, and nevertheless they are separated ideal.
So that pool visitors and sauna guests do not get in the way of. The pool area in turn is subdivided into pool with various massage functions, children's pool with slides and brine pool with salt works.
Straightforwardness without the smallest frills and interesting lighting effects make the atmosphere to a highly advanced and comfortable refuge and resort. The gray slate bottom softly nettles to the water's edge; very beautiful, if this changes its color.
Especially in the evening hours, it is very romantic, like the water glows in a variety of colors. Already this adds significantly to the deceleration. In the domed shaped brine pool with dark grey roof one floats in mystical atmosphere.
Following the brine pool is the salt works in which one breathes healthy salt air on heated stone beds and thus one is able to breath free. A large heated outdoor pool and whirlpool are comfortable reachable through a glass door.
The sauna area has a variety of facilities. Tyrolean sauna, herbal sauna, steam bath, brine steam bath, laconium, ice spring and experience showers. The entrance area is designed very inviting. In the middle sits a raised seating area, which is surrounded by lounge beds.
Everywhere, fresh fruit and water. The pale wood and the bright cushions create an immediate comfort level. The saunas and steam baths line generously around the center.
In a side band, skillfully separated from the sauna area the equipment is completed by a rest room, which is equipped with water beds and open fireplace.
The third area, which includes 8 beauty rooms and spa suites, welcomes as already in the foyer of the hotel with rambling flair.
A cozy sitting area and a beverage and fruit bar can be visited at any time. As one of only a few hotels, the Alpenpalace can come up with a la Prairie Spa.
This high-quality cosmetic line has its origin in a well-known clinic in Switzerland and is to find just in a few hotels in Europe.
La Prairie products are the real pioneers of cellular care therapy against skin aging and one should test such a treatment in any case, because the subsequent skin feeling is terrific.
The good soul and the man for all of the Alpenpalace Spa is certainly Stephan. But, of course, all the other therapists are best trained and pampered with exeptionally gifted hands.
My trigger point massage on the back was legendary. All muscle papules, albeit under light pressure pain were resolved. The pleasant feeling afterwards shows how wonderfully relievs this massage.
My foot reflexology was an equally impressive experience. Not only a skillful massage, but also an introduction into the meridians of my body was understandably explained to me.
And when one think that it can not be improved, which had not yet a Lomi Lomi massage- a Lomi Lomi Massage with Stephan.
With a quiet, pleasant voice Stephan asks me on the heated and soft massage couch. Besides an introductory statement to Lomi Lomi, even this promising anointing with heated sesame oil starts.
By now, I am very far away and only the gentle and however effective touches penetrate to me. Hawaii is getting closer and closer, deep relaxation spreads, I feel only a place of harmony and balance- everything else is far away.
After 2 hours of feeling of security and blessedness, every muscle in me and every point is feelable again as an intact part of my whole body.
All the feelings and reactions during and after the Lomi Lomi massage are very difficult to explain- everyone should experience feel it for itself. Surely, however is, the Lomi Lomi massage here in the Alpenpalace Spa was my so far best "Hawaiian" experience.
With dissolved body awareness and warmed in the interior by the friendly and heartily staff, we leave the Alpenpalace Deluxe Hotel & Spa Resort after four beautiful days. The Alpenpalace has managed it, to celebrate luxury lovingly.
