Meanwhile the "Costa Adeje" has
developed to one of the most popular
holiday destinations of Spain if not even
of Europe. And this not without cause.
In every season there is an constant
climate without great irksome fluctuations
at an average temperature of 24° Celsius.
Proud is the region about the most modern
hotel complexes of Europe. Therefore the
quality is maintained by improvements
and modernizations. The bigger part of
the hotels honoured with 4 or 5 stars were
first opened before comparatively short
time.
The Sheraton La Caleta itself is a brand
new hotel lain fantastically at the coast
along of scenically pretty Mediterranean
gardens. The perfect place for relaxing
whether in the hotel complex or the near
environment. The original villages offer a
typical character of the country. Everywhere
one is received hospitably, the residents
of Tenerife are very kind and open,
helpful and have a pleasant mentality.
We arrive at the airport Tenerife South
and can be pleased not to have a never
ending bus transfer. In almost 15 minutes
we may enter the hotel complex of the
luxurious Sheraton La Caleta at the
Costa Adeje.
The hotel attracts attention already afar.
The Moorish architectural style distances
itself to the neighbour buildings. One
drives onto the hotel driveway and one
already feels put into another mood.
A page welcomes you and you don’t
have to place your luggage just somewhere
where it is taken then to the room but
the classic golden luggage cart waits for
its use.
We check in, what happens so pleasantly
uncomplicatedly and quickly that our
children are not really aware of it and no
impatience arises. We go to the room
and our luggage already is there too.
So we can freshen up and inspect the
hotel, curious of the 1st impression.
The foyer is generously, split-leveled and
is completely glazed to the hotel complex.
The marble floor as well as the marble
disguising create a permanently refreshing
cool climate. The hotel complex is
paradisiacally planted. Over stairs, ramps
and ways, always accompanied with much
green we reach the pool area.
Distributed on several height levels there
are 3 pools. A pool with a waterfall, a
temperatured pool and the main pool with
saltwater. Every pool has its own couch
scenery and obtains therefore a quiet and
relaxed atmosphere. Even at the main
pool which is organically and forms with
whirlpool island the centre of the plant no
mass emergence arises and one enjoys
the eased quiet.
There is also a paradise for the children -
the kids club. Easily isolated it is allowed
to the children splashing around in the
child pool as loudly as they want, climbing
at the playground or getting active
creatively with the child care - we
experienced even a children's birthday
party in the club. Pleasentness for children
is important just as well the hospitality in
the usual meaning. Next to the kids club
lies the well-tended miniature golf plant
which is frequented noumerosly.
The room arranged very homely in cosy
colours is wonderfully spacious so that
despite cot and baby bed - no feeling of
tightness arises if e.g. one gets dressed
for the dinner after a sun rich day. The
bathroom, also very generous, with
bathtub, extra shower cabine, double
basin and separate toilet with bidet does
not allow any hectic. Always cleanly and
with lovingly uncovered blankets we felt
very comfortable.
We are looking forward each time to the
buffet in the morning as well as in the
evening. One can feast variously and
extensively. Regional as well as
international culinary delights are
presented decoratively. Cooks prepare
a choice of an exquisite food directly in
front of our eyes. The children enjoy the
separate kids-buffet very much. We like
it so well that the dinner gets feature-
length and we can go to the bar directly
subsequent.
Every evening changing live music
underlines the pleasantly eased
atmosphere in the open-air bar. During
the day one can eat, depending on
appetite, in the (pool-) restaurant or can
order snacks at the pool bar which are
served e.g. to the sunlounger.
Very relaxing!
To round off the well-being the Sheraton
offers round-the-clock a high technology
physical fitness room for its sporting
guests and for connoisseurs a beauty
and Spa area with qualified trained
therapists. A lovely ambiance among
others by a corresponding interior design
lures to book applications.
From massages, single or parallel in a
twosome, Aromatherapy, hot stones,
body wraps (e.g. with algae), up to
treatments (face and body) with the
exclusive english products of E’SPA, all
of natural origin. By the way the smells
and the oils are individually selected of
the guest according to his well-being and
to his actual sensation.
After the recovering and impressive
treatments one can find to himself but
also slowly again to the outside, both
interior and exterior.
However, one does not have to spend his
holiday only in the hotel complex. The
nearby village with the idyllically laid out
beach “Fanabe”. The promenade of the
hotel up to the downtown invites to walks.
Beautifully situated bars and restaurants,
a lovely architecture and an exclusive
shopping mall for exalted claims give
reason for a visit. Further there are of
course still numerous places of excursions
which makes the stay anymore interesting.
Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife in the
northeast of the island. A modern town
with pioneering architecture, an interesting
international port and among others an
impressive archaeological museum with a
collection of remains of the culture of the
Guanchens, imperative if one would like
to understand the Canary history.
Loroparque in Puerto de la Cruz. In the
middle of a luxuriant subtropical
vegetation is located the largest parrot
collection of the world in a perfect harmony
with nature. Here live 1300 copies of
altogether approximately 230 types.
The park represents an important
reservation for the endangered species.
But one cannot admire only parrots.
Next to many further vivariums e.g. with
gorillas, big cats, crocodiles and much
more there is an interesting penguin
cold-storage which one visit on a treadmill
without pushing. Primarily the various
shows are popular: with seals, parrots,
dolphins and since very recently with orcas.
The Teide with 3718 metres the highest
mountain of Spain, was declared with its
accompanying landscape to a national
park. Over one single main road one is
allowed to visit the volcanic landscape.
An ascent to the Teide can be made either
on foot or over a cable car which starts
from the foot of the volcano, in 2356
metres of height.
Icod de los Vinos in the north of the island
is noted for its exquisite wines. It was
founded in 1501, from which time the
former plant with numerous buildings in
the purest Canary style is still received.
Also known the Drago, a sacred tree.
The thousand year old dracaena is the
most famous and oldest which is still on
the Canary islands.
And there are still more sights.
Much less of the meanwhile 9 golf courses in Tenerife. Nearby the hotel 5 golf
courses are available: four 27 hole golf courses and a 18 hole golf course, of
these the golf course Costa Adeje is located only 2 km away from the hotel.
The golf course Costa Adeje is a 27 hole golf course of the top class. It was even
scene of the Espania Open 2003, part of the circuit PGA. The scenery is wonderful,
this one adapts fantastically to natural environment and has a marvellous view to
the sea - even to the neighbour island of La Gomera.
After 2 weeks, unfortunately, our holiday come to an end. We are recovered very
well and nevertheless we would like to stay longer. Everything was wonderful.
