A must for cross-country skiers, a speciality for all the rest.

Our journey leads us into a sustained, quiet and still original valley, the Antholz valley. Here where the WM biathlon championship took place, the Falkensteiner hotel group has choosen an excellent place for its new house the Alpenresidenz Antholz first revealed in December 2006 directly below the WM arena and with view over the valley. During the time of the biathlon WM it is quite turbulently, the life in the remaining year is rather leisurely.
The villages Antholz and Rasen make a rather still sleepy impression what city-slickers particularly admire and love. For cross-country skiers the Alpenresidenz Antholz is the first choice because the ski cross-country ski runs immediately start and end at the hotel of which there are more than 60 km. The cross-country ski runs lead through the altitude in the middle of woods, as also crossways over the sun plateaux of the Antholz valley.
Skiers and snowboarders are also accomodated very well in the new Falkensteiner hotel. There is a 1600 m long ski-lift directly in the valley which is suitable particularly for smaller children.
In addition, the hotel offers a shuttle of its own to the near situated Kronplatz. Completely eased one reaches a skiing area with 32 modern ski lifts and 105 kilometer of pistes prepared very well, being like carpets.
The Kronplatz is an ideal family skiing area with its broad and flat fallling slopes. Other sport facilities in winter like ice-skating and sleighs on toboggan runs with 5 km of length and in the summer walking, Paragliding and Raften round off the supply.
The pool on which we can catch a look when checking in at the reception shines royal blue, the columns besides are wrapped in warm yellow orangely. Also yellow and orange facing panels shimmer at the ceilings.
Light and colours play a large role in the Alpenresidenz Antholz and are put into scene expertly in all areas. Falkensteiner has created once again a hotel of quite personal charm with an excellent price-performance ratio.
The hand of the architect is probably recognizable if one has already visited several Falkensteiner houses- but every house is unique. The pool area, comfortable with dark couches on the beige-coloured ground is comparably an eldorado for adults and children, because a counter-current system and massage beds and jets of every type strikes every taste. At sunshine one swims to outside, even in winter the sunlight reaches up to the late afternoon up to the water.
Who wants to sweat, finds one of the saunas. When entering the sauna area, at first it gets a little dark. Grey slate covered walls and floor, a red illuminated and a blue illuminated basin is in the atrium which produces an interesting atmosphere. Also here again a number of illuminated niches which serve as decoration and an atmosphere producer.
Deep red and mustard yellow walls form a warm contrast to the slate. Rest rooms on two levels with outside area are laid out comfortably. And a room with water-beds helps us for the ending freeing diversion after 400 motorway kilometres.
Just beside the sauna area is located a physical fitness room with the newest equipment of the brand Precor USA. The aluminium of the equipment seems even twice good on a dark wooden floor. For physical fitness enthusiasts also other activities like yoga, water keep fit or Nordic Walking can be chosen. Who would like to activate his circulation would like to get new life energy or would like to put free blocked energies goes to the so-called "Surya Namaskar", the sun greeting.
The real Spa area with its 5 treatment rooms is created very generously and modernly. Pale yellow walls and sandstone colured floor offer an immediate well feeling guarantee. Whether now "Kaiserbad" in the copper bath or a couple treatment in the private Spa with steam bath, hot stone, double bathtub and double bed...the pallet of the applications is versatile and nevertheless clear.
Our Ayurveda whole body massage was extremely easing, the therapist was very pleasant in her character and her knowledge. Altogether, four employees like beautician, masseur and diet adviser take care of the guests of the house in the "Aqua Pura Antholz".
Easing and feeling good is particularly easy in the Alpenresidenz Antholz. The size of the house is manageable, with its 48 rooms it is part rather of the smaller houses at Falkensteiner and nevertheless all was considered and the generosity of the rooms was regarded as well. The rooms are equipped tastefully, very modernly and practically. The green wall looked alike Granny apples behind the bed awards a happy atmosphere to the room.
The colour "apple-green" is very dominant and recurs also in the dining room. In turn this one is large area subdivided into single niches and two rooms. The fresh colours of the leather armchairs match excellently to the bright wood which is obstructed in the entire hotel. The room "Hochgall" was designed rather rustic without losing the modern age.
The evening finds its perfect end in the fireplace room on comfortable couches or at the bar.
Children from 4 to 12 years were looked after in the kids corner in the holiday periods from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. or draw its rounds under one`s peers.
The Falkensteiner Alpenresidenz Antholz is a comfortable house for guests of every age in an idyllic situation. Both winter sportsmen and walking enthusiasts find here their holiday experience!
