Reading the family chronicle of the owner family Heinzelmann- Schillinger, one quickly recognizes the personal touch and philosophy of the manifold excellent Spa hotel in the beautiful, idyllic Black Forest, just a few kilometers away from Freudenstadt.
What began in the seventies with serious efforts and some set backs – has developed the last few years to a remarkable haven for relaxation as well as for active vacationers of all ages.
The plant utilization is above average and only a few hotels can say this about itself. As one of the first hotels the 4 - star first class hotel focused on the wellness boom in the late eighties.
Today, twenty years later and after numerous major renovations and expansions, the success of that idea concedes the courage and the style of family.
Not least, this success is also due to an accurate market observation and a steady visiting of distant hotels. Wellness is not a trend anymore, but part of today's lifestyles.
With the maximum assessment of the Wellness Stars classified, nominated of Focus and Bild Online among the 10 best feel-good addresses in Germany, the Lauterbad floats on road to success.
But this is no reason for the family to take off- no simply reason to keep at it with passion and full commitment.
I meet at the hotel Lauterbad in all areas on satisfied and relaxed faces, both of the employees, as well as the guests. The hotel with its 41 rooms is manageable and it offers everything you could wish for on holiday wishes.
In the morning my day starts with a varied activity program, such as Aquafitness, Qi Gong or five Tibetans. If this is not sufficient, one can exert oneself in the capacious gym on the latest Technogym equipment or participate on a guided hike or Nordic walking tour.
Likewise, the Black Forest is to be explored very well with the house own mountain bikes and who would like to play golf, plays in only 500 meters distance one of the oldest golf courses in Germany.
The 18 holes of the square are surrounded by lush greenery and a wonderful-sounding nature. In winter there is a small ski slope next to the hotel
No matter for whatever reason you visit the hotel Lauterbad, every intention is fully fulfilled.
So you find an excellent cuisine,which is with 2 hoods excellent.
Highest flavors, quite in the style of haute cuisine, combined with healthy and light fare. Food combining, wholefood or fasting after Buchinger are possible as well as unusual creative dishes.
The restaurant area is divided into two parts. First, the large, brightly-lit restaurant and lounge area, which exudes a warm and cozy atmosphere. On comfortable, apricot coloured seat armchairs one glides rolling to its place and enjoy the nice atmosphere.
The owner herself says almost every evening: Enjoy your meal!, and shepherd her guests. In fact, even the personal service and the ubiquitous presence of the family are the success concept.
In summer one can finish the evening lovely on the spacious terrace with fine furniture á la nature lounge character. Modern light cubes create a warm, unobtrusive light.
On the other hand there is also the now much-vaunted "Stüble", for what I decide. Already at the first sight of it I love this rustic Black Forest snuggery with by hand shaped walls and ceilings. The homely atmosphere which pervaids here also attracts many visitors from the surrounding.
In terms of the rooms there were and will be further changes in the near future. All rooms are traditionally and exclusively equipped.
Noble cherrywood and high-quality fabrics adorn the spacious room. Exclusive bathrooms with double washbasins and large showers are part of it, as well as the latest Sony Faltscreens.
So far, there are seven newly designed rooms and suites. Puristic and yet comfortable, modern such as from the catalog and still feel good pure. Furniture of Hülsta with white glossy fronts, coupled with strong green-TV furniture showcase their full beauty on the elegant parquet floor or the high-cuddel carpet. Most modern tesseras, iridescent in brown and gold tones, dominate the bathroom.
Until now, every reconstruction of the house was a veritable enrichment, but the extension and expansion of the spa area in the year 2007 has exeeded by far all previous.
A spa area of the superlatives arose on about 1800 square meters. The finest materials and appearing decorative elements give the feeling to want to miss nothing.
Now I promenade on sandstone coloured stone floor through the oversized area and I am spoilt for choice, in terms of the options of the relax couches.
Fifty couches, spread over 41 rooms is almost unique and so one of the biggest in Germany. The so-called sleeping bag covers an area of 15 meters in width and offers ergonomically shaped couch areas, upholstered with a soft, white cloth.
Flickering log fire crackles softly to itself, and I feel very safe here as in Mother's lap. Right beside it is the Relax- Rondell with swing beds and an uninterrupted view to the countryside.
For me, the Non Plus Ultra: to relax weightless on the heated and, above all, equipped with massage function waterbeds.
Fiber for fiber, muscle for muscle, I relax more and more and when I look in the bamboo sky my features get out of control, the eyelids no longer under control, I vanish in the realm of dreams.
An elaborate finish, the so-called Silence STO technology does the rest, and reduces any acoustic noise in the room to a minimum.
After unratable time I wake up again in the reality and so I decide to swim in the charming outdoor swimming pool at nicest sunshine. The 16x5 meter stainless steel pool nestles in nature as created by God. The brilliant blue of the water is surrounded by lush greenery of the adjacent meadows.
The entrance of the pool is also very uncomplicated in the inner area, wonderfully refreshing red of the walls are reflected in the stainless mirror of the pool floor.
A quick look at the clock tells me high time to dress and to move into the adjacent beauty area. Indeed, the highlight of the day is still ahead of me and the anticipation of one in Germany so far rather rare treatment increases immeasurably.
The magic word is Terraké. Various treatment- rituals are offered, from facials, over body treatments, or even complete combinations divided into four different themes. I decided for the experience world earth.
One of the 12 therapists leads me into the room of the event and explains me first in detail, what will happen in the next two hours.
The first ice is quickly broken and I feel very comfortable on the bed. The tension reached its peak and is interrupted by a deep relaxation during the full body massage.
Gems like e.g. quartz and warm basalt stones alternate with the gentle effleurages of two hands. Wafted away in a state of deep relaxatio, then quite incidentally starts a facial treatment with anti-wrinkle effect.
Here, too, gemstones as Rhodochrosit, quartz and a manual massage are used. The ending of the treatment is a tea ceremonial with a gentle coming home on the realm earth.
Entirely in another state of being arrived, I decide to go to my room, to enjoy the dinner and then finally to fall into bed.
The sauna area with Smarakand, laconium, Finnish sauna, tepidarium and fragrant hunter- sauna must wait finally until tomorrow.
My two day stay in Lauterbad
were relaxation and well-feeling pure,
but unfortunately only a quick run.
My next visit will definitely be longer!
